My computer, a Dell Studio xps, would not start up and would beep 4 times. I tried to turn it on several times and got the same result each time. I removed the power cord to it, let the green light on the back turn off, plugged it back in and then it started.

What does the 4 beeps tell me?

thanks

Check the beep codes for your system / bios: http://support.dell.com/support/systemsinfo/documentation.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~subcat=178&~cat=12

Thanks for that info!

The code is a RAM read/write failure. What would have fixed it seeing all I did was power it down?
