Hello,
I Have tried two spyware/malware programs and can't get rid of this. I have a black screen and no shortcuts on my main screen. Can't access internet unless in safe mode and sometimes that doesn't work. Ran malwarebytes and took all infected stuff and rebooted but still have it on there.

Please Help this is my main computer for work and school.

Hello,

Please download and run these programs in sfaemode.

1.
Please download the TDSS Rootkit Removing Tool (TDSSKiller.exe) and save it to your Desktop. <-Important!!!
Be sure to download TDSSKiller.exe (v2.5.6.0) from Kaspersky's website and not TDSSKiller.zip which appears to be an older version 2.3.2.2 of the tool.
  • Double-click on TDSSKiller.exe to run the tool for known TDSS variants.
Vista/Windows 7 users right-click and select Run As Administrator.
  • If TDSSKiller does not run, try renaming it.

  • To do this, right-click on TDSSKiller.exe, select Rename and give it a random name with the .com file extension (i.e. 123abc.com). If you do not see the file extension, please refer to How to change the file extension.

Hello and thank you for your assistance. I have downloaded tdsskiller but it will not run. I have renamed it and it still won't run. It says in task manager that it is running but there is nothing showing on the screen to begin the scan.

I am sure this isn't good but here we go
Combofix was downloaded I run it has a box that comes up and looks like it is running/scanning files. It scans for about 10 seconds then just disappears. I have renamed it saved to desktop and still nothing. I am in Safe mode with networking and have also tried just safe mode.

Hello,

Try running this in normal mode if it wont, then use safemode
1.
Please download aswMBR ( 511KB ) to your desktop.
  • Double click the aswMBR.exe icon to run it
  • Click the Scan button to start the scan
  • On completion of the scan, click the save log button, save it to your desktop and post it in your next reply.

2.
  • Download RogueKiller on the desktop
  • Close all the running processes
  • Under Vista/Seven, right click -> Run as Administrator
  • Otherwise just double-click on RogueKiller.exe
  • When prompted, type 1 (SCAN) then Enter
  • A report should open, give its content to your helper. (RKreport could also be found next to the executable)
  • If RogueKiller has been blocked, do not hesitate to try a few times more. If really won't run, rename in winlogon.exe (or winlogon.com) and try again

3.
Go to Start>All Programs> Accessories> Run
In the Box Copy and paste or type the following, then press ok
Combofix /nombr
Now see if Combofix will run.

Hello again,
I got everything except being able to run the combofix. When I went to start-all programs-there isn't accessory as an option. I did try to click and run it from desktop but still got the box that looked like it was scanning. I have included the other scans, not sure if you might need them
thanks

Hello,

Re-Run aswMBR

  • Click Scan
  • On completion of the scan, click the FIXMBR button
  • There is a slight pause after clicking the 'Fix' button.
  • Wait for the tool to report 'Infection fixed successfully', now reboot the machine.
  • Rebooting the machine prematurely, before seeing this line will result in an incomplete fix.

Note:After the 'Infection fixed successfully' message appears, the machine may became unresponsive. You may have to do a hard boot of your machine. That may be a side effect from the fix. All will be well after the reboot.
  • Save the log as before and post in your next reply.

2.
  • We need to Rerun Roguekiller. This time we will do it different.
  • Close all the running processes
  • Under Vista/Seven, right click -> Run as Administrator
  • Otherwise just double-click on RogueKiller.exe
  • When prompted, type 2 (REMOVE) then Enter
  • A report should open, give its content to your helper. (RKreport could also be found next to the executable)
  • If RogueKiller has been blocked, do not hesitate to try a few times more. If really won't run, rename in winlogon.exe (or winlogon.com) and try again

3.
  • Right click on the Start Button,
  • Then click Properties
  • Then click Start Menu and Customize.
  • Scroll down, until you find the Run Command and tick the box.
  • Then click Ok until you get out.
Posted Image

Now there should be a Run command on your start menu. Click it and type what I posted in my last reply to run Combofix.

Things to include in your next reply::
aswMBR log
RogueKiller log
Combofix log

Hello there again,
Ok I have done everything including running combofix..Thank goodness..
The computer seems to be running well..I have no desktop shortcuts though. So I'm not sure if those are lost to the world or not, but I will figure out how to restore them, because the programs are all there. I am getting a Logitech Messenger Error?? I also don't have a log for combofix it never gave me the option for one. The computer restarted and I waited about 5-6 minutes after it completely reloaded to check on it.
Here are the other files though

Hello,

Your Combofix log should be located at C:\ComboFix.txt

Goto Start>My Computer>C:\>Combofix.txt

Also please download and run Unhide.exe and see if you get your desktop shortcuts back.
