I use advanced task killer to kill potentially unwanted processes.
I quarantined a process called "logon" or "profile" or something down that line.
I immediately got a bsod and restarted. I was not able to even boot into safe mode.
I decided to do a reinstall of the system files using the xp cd.
While it is installing I have full mouse control, and keyboard control in bios. However, I get a dialog box saying an audio codec has not passed windows logo testing. A minute or so before the dialog box I lose control of the mouse and keyboard. I can't select either choice without mouse or keyboard control. They are usb , and I have no ps2 ports.
I have tried unplugging and plugging it back in to no avail.
Also I can't find anything about usb legacy support in my dell bios.
Is there a way to delete the old driver if I cant regain mouse control?

I would try to find the battery in the motherboard and unplug it and replug it in after a couple minutes.
