I am not too familiar with this Vista that I've been asked to fix (it belongs to my mom). It refuses to startup properly. I get the following upon each attempt at startup:

STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} The initial session process or system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x00000000 (0xc0000001 0x001003c0). The system has been shut down.

I have tried using the following advanced boot options:

Repair Your Computer
Safe Mode
Last Known Good Configuration
Launch Startup Repair

All options result in the above error. I don't even think they even initialize. I also once got the following:

STOP: c000007b {Bad Image} \??\X:\Windows\system32\basesrv.dll

Once again, I will reiterate that I don't know much about this computer (version, any recent software changes, ect...). I also do not know if this computer came with a recovery disk. All help is greatly appreciated.

Do you have access to the Repair Console via a Windows Vista Installation CD?

Unfortunately the only person I know who has one lives clear across the country. I'll ask around though. If i can't get a hold of one, what are my options?

Well you could always buy a copy and make sure its the same version. Make sure its the full version if need be.

Ok, I hope I can just find a copy to borrow (really don't have the money to buy one), I'll let you know if I encounter any other complications. Thanks for assisting.
