My wife uses Outlook Express for her email app. She has one email that freezes OE every time the instant she selects it. The email is a newsletter that she gets frequently, so I don't think it should be a problem with the email itself.

We can't figure out a way to delete it short of moving all the other email in the folder elsewhere and then deleting the whole file for that folder.

Any advise for removing the single email and/or what is causing the problem? Just curiosity mostly.

spiritcloud: Turn the preview pane off, then try to delete the message...

In Outlook Express...Click View, Layout.
Under Preview Pane, Uncheck Show preview pane.
Click OK.

Try to delete the message.

You can turn it back on after you delete the message.

Let me know if that worked,

It let her select the email after turning off the preview pane, but when she tried to delete it the whole pc froze. Ctrl Alt Del wouldn't even work.

Hmmm...Do you have a lot of files under Deleted Items?

Try to empty your Deleted Items folder.

Click Edit, 'Empty Deleted Items' Folder

Restart Outlook Express, try to delete the email again.

Try this....

An Error Message Appears When You Try to Delete an E-mail Message

Let me know if that helped.
