Hello,

Recently my computer contracted the "Windows 2011 Security Virus". With the help of your forum I was able to successfully cure my computer. However, in retrospect the whole reason I got the virus to begin with was because my computer has the "Google Redirect Virus" (or so I believe it to be). I'd say about 10 out of 15 times I click on a link in a Google search I am redirected to another page, often an advertisement. I assumed fixing the "Security Virus" would also fix the Google issue, but it has not and I am afraid my computer is one click away from another attack.

I currently run Windows XP. As a precursor, I have run Malwarebytes, McCaffee, Spybot, Ccleaner, TDSKiller, and even followed the suggestions as given here (), but with not luck in removing or detecting the "Google Redirect Virus". Through my research I have read that ComboFix seems to do the trick, but I do not want to run this unless prompted by someone who knows what they are looking for. Any advice would be greatful.

Thanks.

With the information you have provided I believe you will need help from the malware removal team. I would like you to start a new thread and post a DDS log HERE and include a link to this thread. Please make sure that you read the information about getting started before you start your thread.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient. Help is on the way!
