Hi.

We managed to pick up the XP Repair malware last night on our family desktop. Totally my fault as I normally use a laptop and had not noticed that the desktop was only on sp2 and had out of date progams installed.

I have followed your removal guide and it seems to have got rid of it. I am not being re-directed on google and it does not seem slow. The PC is now up to date with Microsoft patches and I have updated almost all the other programs. I was wondering if you can have a look at my logs? Below is my DDS log and I have attached the ark.txt and attach.txt file. If you need them I also have the rkill log, tdsskiller logs and malwarebytes logs.

Thank you in advance

that looks pretty good lets try this scan

Download and run OTL

Download OTL by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.
  • Double click on OTL.exe to run it.
  • Under Output, ensure that Minimal Output is selected.
  • Under Extra Registry section, select Use SafeList.
  • Click the Scan All Users checkbox.
  • Click on Run Scan at the top left hand corner.
  • When done, two Notepad files will open.
    • OTL.txt <-- Will be opened and the that I need posted back here
    • Extra.txt <-- Will be minimized - save this one on your desktop in case I ask for it later
  • Please post the contents of OTListIt.txt in your next reply.
