Macbook Pro 10.6.8, Firefox 5.0

I had firefox open when I plugged in my external hdd which has two partitions on it. The 1st partition has a bootable bu of my macbook pro hdd maintained by SuperDuper. Shortly after the two partitions came up on my desktop I got a message from Firefox.app asking to install the font "Stone Sans ITC TT Bold" on the 1st partition [volume]. Then I got another message about installing "BlaiMDITC TT Medium" font on the same partition.

Why would my browser be accessing the bu partition? Furthermore, both these fonts are already in Library/Fonts on the bu partition.
