I have a windows 95 system that I stopped using because I could never get it to satisfactorily defragment. Has anyone out there found a good trouble free defragmenter that will work well with Win95?

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Programs running in the background, or even a screen saver, can cause defrag in Windows 9x to start over.

You can defrag in safe mode
Or do a ctrl-alt-del to bring up the task list then end task on everything but explorer and systray.
It should work then.
In the beginning there was the command line.
