Hello I was trying to connect a friends computer to her office computer thru Remote Desktop and now I see that
Windows 7 home premium does not work with that option. Does anyone know if there is a workaround for using Remote Desktop at home
using Windows Home Premium and connecting to an office computer at another location using the same Windows 7 Home Premium? The option
is available, but I guess the problem is that the office computer is running the same version that is not supported.
Thank you for any help you can give !

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Remote-Desktop-Connection-frequently-asked-questions

All editions of Windows 7 include Remote Desktop Connection.

  • You can use Remote Desktop to initiate a connection from any edition of Windows 7.
  • You can connect to computers running Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, or Windows 7 Enterprise.
  • You can't use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to computers running Windows 7 Starter, Windows 7 Home Basic, or Windows 7 Home Premium.

There are...ahem..."unsupported" workarounds for getting it to work, but they would violate the Board Rules:

No subject matter will be allowed whose purpose is to defeat existing copyright or security measures.

Sorry.

You can always use another remote access software such as TeamViewer or LogMeIn.

Thank you so much :) I understand what you mean about unsupported and
did find information on that, but I guess she does not want to violate
the rules so I just suggested she sign up for gotomypc if she really needs it. Thank you for your time !!
