Are you comfortable with making edits in the registry? Back up your registry FIRST!

Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

the "NoFolderOptions" should have a value of =dword:00000000

My guess is yours has a value of =dword:00000001

If you hang on a few more minutes I will have another option for you....be right back!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok, I am back!
This might be a whole lot easier for you.
Go to: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Scroll down to number 129. Restore Folder Options Under Tools
Click on it.
This will begin the process of downloading a registry tweak to your computer.
Click Save.
Now tell it where to save it. I recommend somewhere easy to find, like your desktop.
Then go to your desktop, double click on the file that you just downloaded (it is called folderoptions.reg)
Run.
Yes.
It will tell you if it was successful.
Thanx... i had tried using the regedit.exe but came out saying "Registry editing has been disabled by your administrator" ... how is that? how to enable it back?
Hi keepo,
Why did you start a new topic, leaving the same question open in this, original one ?
That's not really polite in regard of people who are trying to help you here or in the other topic with the same problem, not being aware you already have gotten some answers in another topic, so please only start one topic on the same problem :thumbsup:
