The "ring of death" refers to a specific form of technical problem with the Xbox 360.

So in short, no, the PS3 can not get the "ring of death". However, the PS3 can, like any computerized device, suffer a hardware failure.

The Ps3 suffers from something call ylod, but as Blade Zephon said any electronic device can succumb to a hardware failure.
