Hi,

I'm new to this site so please bare with me but I am hoping you can help me with this problem.

The router arrived today and I have sucessfully been able to connect my laptop, my blu ray player and my sons laptop with no problems. Connecting his PS3 however is proving impossible. When I scan for devices with the PS3 the router shows up but I am unable to connect to it.

Does any one have any experience with this set up that can help me.

If my son can't play online he will go nuts and if the problem can't be fixed I will need to send the router back.

All help will be very gratefully received.

Thanks

Graham

Do you need any special security keys to allow for wireless devices to connect to the router?

Hi, thanks for your reply.

Yes, password security is enabled on the router WPA2-PSK (AES)and this has not been a problem for the other devices I have connected to it.

I could try removing this requirement and see if it can connect then I guess.

Sorry but I am not too clued up on the technical side of things.

You need to also use those same settings in the setting up of your PS3's Wireless Connection.

Follow this guide: How do I set up my PS3's wireless / wired network settings?

Thanks again.

This is where my problem begins, when I select my SSID access point the system just 'hangs' for what seems like indefinitely. I never get to stage 10 and onwards where I am asked to select my type of security and enter access codes.

I have actually tried accessing other SSID's just to see if it is any different but the situation is the same. I may try and see if it will connect to my old router to see if it is a problem with the PS3 as oposed to the new router.

Try doing a custom a set up, and see if it lets you get any further.

I've tried all sorts of set ups but they all have the same result it all just hangs after I have selected the SSID. I am worried that it wont connect to the old router even if i set that up again as the same happens even when i select neighbouring SSIDs.

Connect it via wired, and update it.
