What Does Low Drum Mean?

my work's printer (konica minolta magicolor 2300DL) says low drum. how do i fix this?

the drum unit ties in with the toner cartridge, could mean its either is low on toner or the actual drum unit needs to be replaced. how old is the printer and current toner and have you replaced the drum yet?
