Hello! This is my 1st ever post on here and I aint too technology savvy so please bare with me..

Recently my Wife's laptop has been playing up. When we start up it seems that we get an error message for every application which is trying to start up. For example, I just tried to open calculator and up popped the following error message:

calc.exe - Bad Image

C:\PROGRA-1\Google\GOOGLE-1\GO36F4-1.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

All (-) symbols in the above are actually wavy lines which i cannot find on my keyboard!

I have tried downloading and running a trial version of malwarebytes which did not seem to find nor eliminate the problem, and spybot which which did not either.

Having typed this problem into google i was presented with a program called wisefixer which can apparently fix this problem, but you have to pay to register, and with my 1st child overdue by 2 days, money is tight.

Any help and advice on this subject would be gratefully appreciated.

<<...i was presented with a program called wisefixer which can apparently fix this problem...>>

The key word there is "apparently". All that glitters on the Internet...is probably not gold. Users should be aware4 of that by now, with the excessive prevalence of malware and schemes designed to part a fool from her/his money.

The file mentioned appears as a malware possibility, per Google.

I will move this topic to one of the BC malware forums, where others will assist you in checking your system.
