OK now this one is really WEIRD!:
I am running Windows XP Media Center 2002 Service Pack 2
with WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 10 installed (my system does not support 11).
I was using a SANSA 2 GIG MP3 player red clip with NO PROBLEMS.
I filled it with music, charged it up - all was good.
I did not know this at first, but it turns out the player has TWO USB modes - MSC and MTP.
When I first connected it, it installed by default in MTP mode with no trouble.
Now, for some crazy reason, when I try to reconnect to my PC the FOUND NEW HARDWARE dialog comes up
and when it tries to install the driver in MTP mode I get this error:
"An error occurred during the installation of the device
The class installer has denied the request to install or upgrade this device "
BUT if i go into the player and change the USB Mode to MSC, it installs fine, HOWEVER the problem is windows can not read any of the files i placed on the player in MTP mode, so explorer only sees directories and no files.
So the only thing I can do in MSC mode is charge the battery.
Does anyone know how I can get the driver to install in MTP mode?
