A coworker's computer seems to be having trouble. At startup, multi-colored boxes appear randomly in geometric formations. This is accompanied by a slow system startup, a general stall, or it becomes entirely inoperable requiring a reboot. A picture is provided in the attachment if any of you may know what the underlying cause would be. Thanks.

Interesting. have you tried seeing what starts up when you log onto the computer? go to the run box, type msconfig.exe, and then enter.
