I recently installed and "unofficial patch" for an older game I was trying to run in order to enable a hardware acceleration workaround. While it did help to some extent I am worried it may have had a hidden payload. Not long after I began to have crashes of explorer and the program that handles my biometric security also crashed on me. I am hoping it was possibly something that the program modified that is just not meshing well with my system. However, I can't help but worry that I may have a virus or other malware.
