Has anyone heard of this System Smart Security? my brother is infected with it and I haven't laid my eyes on the computer, just had some of the problems described to me. It redirects his browser to startnow.com, along with asking him to buy this anti virus program, which I can't believe he did! so the program got his credit card number or bank card which has about 100 dollars on it. First he should cancel the card, but I recommend a clean install since there is nothing on his laptop important, does this sound like what he should do? other than not get back on-line until he knows to never ever give out his credit card info...thanks

Hello,I moved this to the Am I Infected forum.

Please follow our Removal Guide here Remove Smart Security (Uninstall Guide) .
After reading how the malware is misleading you ...
You will move to the Automated Removal Instructions

After you completed that, post your scan log here, let me know how things are.
The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows MBAM's database version and your operating system.
