Packard Bell Recovery

I bought a packard bell computer about 3 years ago as this was my first computer I didnt know much about them (not that I know Much Now) it had windows xp installed no hard disc came with the package only a recovery floppy disk( this would start up the system which is hidden away in a partition some where in my computer which I cannot access. My sister inlaw bought one recently hers had a rewriter in hers and she can make a copy of her operating system i have added a rewriter to mine but still can get a copy if my hard drive goes I will have to by a new operating system can anyone help me.
