I've been 'lucky' enough to have two machines infected in one week. Let's start with my son's laptop, a Windows 7 HP G60.

When I try to run rkill (as iExplore.exe) I get a message that access is denied. The log shows suspicious processes terminated, but I'm not convinced.

Then, I run TDSSKiller, from Kaspersky, which claims no threats found. Again, I'm not convinced.

I now try to run the MBAM installer, where I get the Access is denied error again, and the setup cannot complete.

Any thoughts on next steps?
