Like I said, I don't use IE. But for security purposes, such as program vulnerabilities, should I still update it?

If you truly don't use it, it doesn't matter. Having said that, there's certainly no harm in installing IE9 either (except that a number of people - myself included - don't care for it and have reverted to IE8)

I tend to disagree with you there, Allan. A number of other applications like Skype, Steam, various IM clients, and parts of Windows itself (depending on the Windows version, for example the User Accounts Control panel in Windows XP) use the IE engine to render HTML and other content, some of which may come from the internet. I recommend that people apply all updates to all software installed on their system, regardless of how they use the software.

Andrew - I received a PM from Broni saying pretty much the same thing you did. Actually, re-reading the post I thought the question was whether or not to install IE9 (as you can probably gather from my response above). I tend to agree that all Windows Security Updates should be installed and sorry for the confusion.
