My PC (running Windows XP) was recently affected by malware (I think the "MS Antivirus" malware under a pseudonym). I removed the malware with rkill and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

Now my PC works ... but the programs list from the start menu is missing many programs, including Microsoft Office. I have tried using "Free Window Registry Repair" in case this is a problem with the registry, but nothing has changed.

When I open a Microsoft Word document, it says "The command cannot be performed because a dialog box is open. Click OK, and then close open dialog boxes to continue." Clicking OK leads to the "open" dialog box, which says "The add-in template is not valid. (C:\...\STARTUP\~$10Cwyw.dot)". Clicking OK again allows the document to open. I am unsure if this is related to the missing programs list.

I have no problem opening Microsoft Excel documents, pdf, pictures or music.

Thanks for your help.
