Okay, thanks. I have an idea. I have never partitioned a hdd. I want to add/create a partition on this system to install ONLY an OS. Do I make it an extended, logical or primary partition. I think 1G will be enough. Thank you for your help! BTW, I did read the tutorial and the only options I have are to rename the system partition or delete that 306MB unknown partition. I don't need to be deleting something if I will need it. HELP!!!
Original specs at http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/toshiba-satellite-a105-s2101/1707-3121_7-31980628.html .
The small partition should be the boot partition and/or an administrativ partition, put in by most laptop manufacturers. There is no reason at all to ever access it as long as you have no problems with the system. The size indicates that it cannot be indicated for storage...306MB just isn't very useful in today's computing world. SP3 for XP is larger than that .
Whatever Toshiba's restore-to-factory-defaults mechanism is...the necessary files are probably on that hidden partition.
