2.5 HDD VS. 3.5 HDD

I have the chance to get two 2.5 " hard drives and I am not sure if they will work( fit, connections) in a desktop PC.
They are intended to be used in a notebook. I am ok with there specifications and compatibility with OS.
Any guidance will be appreciated. Thank you, Jerry
