Hello all...I am new to this site and not very well versed in computer lingo or technology. I believe I have some sort of intrusion to my computer. I am unable to open any file or program on my copmuter without this MS REMOVAL TOOL popping up telling me I must buy their program to relieve any and all infections/viruses. A friend told me about this site and gave me some paper printouts pertaining to an UNINSTALLATION for this whatever it is and I can not seem to get the RKill download to take affect?! Please help...very frustrated and my life is on this computer!! Don't know what to do...

Thanks,
vnichols

What happens when you try to download rkill?

If you are unable to download rkill from the main download, try these alternate download locations:

1. http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/rkill.com
2. http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/rkill.pif
3. http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/rkill.scr
4. http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/eXplorer.exe
5. http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/iExplore.exe

Andrew,

I am on the infected computer and nothing happens. I have chosen to run it and save it to my desktop and I get the response: Some system files are corrupt. Please download a fresh copy and retry the installation: I received this info from a post in your forums from fireman4it.

Do I need to save the links you offered me from a good computer and install it to my infected computer? Is this the fix I need?

Sorry to seem confusing but I have no Idea what I am doing. Can anyone just log onto my computer and fix it for me?

Thanks,
vnichols

If you keep getting the "Some System Files Are Corrupt" error message even after repeating steps 3 through 6 of the uninstall guide, then you should try downloading rkill from a different computer and using a USB thumb drive to move it to the infected computer.

Unfortunately we cannot connect to your computer or otherwise log on to it due to the potential for legal liability.
