Hi, I have been trying to troubleshoot a BSOD with DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL when using a dial up to connection to the internet using a 56k modem. I have tried several different drivers, 2 different modems, changed pci slots with no luck. The modem works in another machine, so I don't think the hardware is the problem. Anyone have any idea how to proceed? Thanks.

System specs:
AMD 2.2
ASUS A7N266-VM mobo
1.5gb DDR ram
XP PRO x86
Zoom 3030 v.92 56k modem

Well...the only BSOD that points at anything...indicates that you may have a drie problem, a file system problem, a partition problem, or a problme with the ntfs.sys file.

I would suggest taking a look in Event Viewer at the errors listed for 7 Jun...and try to figure out just which one it might be.

How To Use Event Viewer - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic40108.html . I suggest actually reading this link before starting your review of EV errors.

Double-clicking on any error in EV reveals the detail, such as it may be.

Any errors citing Disk 0, 1, etc. should be posted in your next reply.

Louis
