Hi!

I was wondering if there is any way that one can block the autorun files from running when an external device (CD, DVD, Flash drive, etc.) is inserted into the computer.

I have Sandboxie but that requires one to make a payment in order to enjoy that feature. Is there any other way to block these autoruns?

Thank you for the link Allan. How do I test it out to make sure it works?

Also, does this Panda USB Vaccine work? Does it do the job completely or leave it half done?

You put in a installation CD like Windows Install CD or another CD.

No idea - never tried it and haven't read or heard anything about it.

Thank you both for your responses.

If anyone else has tried the Panda USB Vaccine, please share your views on it.

I followed the instructions on the above mentioned link. I created the NoAutoRun.reg file, saved it on desktop and then merged it with registry as well. So is it OK for me to delete the file that I saved on desktop now?

I've used Panda USB Vaccine and yes it does what it's supposed to do. I think they bundle it with any of their AV software as well. I think they require an email address from you now though. If that bothers you try this or this.
It's nice to be important, it's much more important to be nice.

Yes.

Regarding Panda USB Vaccine: While I've never personally used it, you might want to see this POST by another BC Advisor, Romeo29.
