I am running VISTA and FireFox. I can connect to the internet but no browser will run. No update will run. I can however see the network meter sending and receiving data. Sometimes it is in large bursts, other times a small constant stream. I ran AdAware, Spybot, Super Anti Spyware, Malwarebytes, Immunet, Windows Defender and just installed Avast. None of the other programs found anything and Avast won't run. Once this morning I was able to connect and although I wasn't doing anything, there were unusual bursts of transfers. I turned off the connection until I can figure this out, hopefully it isn't too late.

I ran a HiJackThis log but don't know what I am looking for. You guys saved my "life" about ten years ago, so here I am again. Any ideas or suggestions?

Here is my HJT log file:

I am running Vista and have recently had a problem accessing the internet, however my network meter states that something is being uploaded and downloaded. When this happens I am unable to connect using any browser. I have downloaded and run several virus scanners. They all seem to find something different but none have been able to allow me to regain access to internet control. Here are the log files from the "Preparation Guide" request: DDS, ARK, ATTACH.

Thank you for any assistance anyone can offer.

Hi. A lot has changed over the past few days. The virus seemed to allow me to access the internet around 5 a.m. and I DL'd PC Tools Spyware Dr. It found 27 infections. After that I was able to access the internet and update Malwarebytes which found 227. Yikes. I was able to do research here and my best guess is that I was infected by visiting a website called ZAP2IT. I ran the RKILL and Malwarebytes again and nothing really happened.

My system is running a tad slow and I can't log on at work. I can at home. I am going to try at a neighbor's house tonight.

Despite the appearance of being under control, I wouldn't mind a good check up or any further assistance you might provide. I am going to uninstall several programs on this system for no other reason than I don't use them.

I do all my financial work from this computer, too, but, have been using work and have changed all my passwords from there. What's next?

-Malcolm.

I would like to see the MBAM log with the 227 entries. Open the MBAM panel and click the Logs tab to find it.

Hi,

I have not had a reply from you for 5 days. Can you please tell me if you still need help with your computer as I am unable to help other members with their problems while I have your topic still open. The time taken between posts can also change the situation with your PC making it more difficult to help you.

If you like you can PM me.

Thanks,
