Hi, all. I have used bleepingcomputer before to find answers to infection issues, but this one has me stumped. I accidently installed AVG 2011 thinking I was updating my virus protection. Now, I get a recurring message telling me to reboot my computer to install updates, but nothing happens. The message just repeats. I saw a thread on the site about using rkill and malwarebytes, which I have used before successfully, but they don't find anything. I have performed this in safe mode with networking, but no fix. I have removed both rkill and malwarebytes and reinstalled but it did not help. Now I am running much slower and when I let my computer sit for a short period of time, it goes to the blue screen and forces me to reenter my password. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello is this XP? Do you now have 2 different AV's running or installed?

I accidently installed AVG 2011 thinking I was updating my virus protection.

If so what is the other AV?

I would go to the Control Panel and Uninstall it then re install.
It's not a malware issue as it is probably a conflict from the install.
