Attempting to help a friend get her box back. Noticed right away it was a browser hijacker @ a minimum. AVG found several things, including two versions of cryptic & another virus. AVG couldn't remove the versions hiding in memory, tried installing the latest MalwareBytes, but I couldn't complete an install, including in safe mode. Spybot is having a wininit.ini issue during removal. Another friend suggested ComboFix, so I came here. The Stronghold Cryptic removal prog didn't work either.
