Hi All,

I spent weeks---after one lazy thinking night when I allowed the windows restore virus to invade my computer---to return my computer to its former state.

Being a nurse, and not a tech person, it took me a lot of research, and effort, to return my computer to a place where I could use it.

I even found a dialogue box where I could unhide some of my programs, but not all, and my DVD drive still would not work.

Today, I made further efforts and found unhide.exe by Grinler. I cannot thank this individual enough. My programs are all back, and my DVD drive is working perfectly. I would most certainly be willing to donate or register for this program, as it most certainly brought my computer from almost working to now its former condition before I stupidly allowed the virus to enter. But, on searching and searching, I cannot find any site where I can send my thanks to this programmer. I wish I could personally thank this person.

Thank you for this forum, and thank you Grinler, whoever you may be, who made a tremendous difference in my day and life. After working in the ER for 12 hours, I now can come home, unwind, and watch a movie. :-) Not to mention all my other programs which are now available.

Grinler is none other than owner and operator of Bleeping Computer. I know that he very much likes to know that his tools and efforts help people and also that posts like yours pretty much make his day. :)

We both benefit. That's the way the world ought to be.

I plan on learning more and more about that mysterious rectangle I call my computer.

I'm sure glad I found this forum.
