Hi guys. Yes, me too, I have the spyaxe in my computer. I'm new here, actually I became a member precisely because I'd like some help removing spyaxe. That "Your computer is infected" announcement is getting on my nerves!!!

I've already tried with Microsoft AntiSpyware and with Counterspy. And although they both detect it and say that they have removed it, when I restart my pc is back there again!! Has anyone outhere already tried the removal process that is posted in this site. Did it work?

Good luck to you all!

It works for some, and some have to end up submitting a HijackThis log to be fully rid of the infection.
Try the posted fix, and if it doesn't completely remove the infection, do as the last step says, and post a HJT log.

Read How to post a HijackThis Log.
Please read, and follow, all directions carefully.

Then, run a log, and post it in the HijackThis forum, at this link. Do not, fix anything, yet.
A member, of the HJT Team, will help you out.
It may take a while to get a response, because the HJT Team are very busy. Please, be patient, these people are volunteers. They will help you out, as soon as possible.

NOTE:
Once you have made the post, please, DO NOT make another post in the HJT forum, until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. The first thing they look for, when looking for logs to reply to, is 0 replies. If you make another post, there will be 1 reply. The team member, glancing over the replies, might assume someone is already helping you out, and will not respond. So, just make your post, and let it sit there, until a team member responds. This way you will be taken care of, in the most timely manner.

Hi fellows. As I was infected with SpyAxe, I tried the SmitRem program. I must say that for my relief, it really doesn't take to long to run. At least it didn't on my pc, about 20 minutes or so.

Well, the god news is that the annoying announcement on the bottom right corner of my pc is gone. But the bad news is that SpyAxe still appears on my programs list (I'm using Windows XP Home). Should I try to uninstall it? Has this happened to anyone else after running the SmitRem?

I'll be glad to hear any comments.

Lucho
