Hey guys,

I'm running Windows Vista 32-bit with SP2 installed.

First of all, I'm having troubles with the Google redirect virus - I'll click a search result and often instead of sending me to that page it sends me to other sites, some of which are slightly related and some of which are fake security-scanning pages and such. Any help with this one would be much appreciated.

Secondly, I keep getting an error saying "Host process for Windows Services has stopped working". The Event Viewer gives me this error every time it happens:

Log Name: Application
Source: Application Error
Date: 30/05/2011 11:16:31 PM
Event ID: 1000
Task Category: (100)
Level: Error
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer: Gaia
Faulting application svchost.exe, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x47918b89, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6002.18327, time stamp 0x4cb73436, exception code 0xc000071b, fault offset 0x00088d15, process id 0x478, application start time 0x01cc1ebe37aa053a.
Event Xml:
<Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event">
<Provider Name="Application Error" />
<EventID Qualifiers="0">1000</EventID>
<TimeCreated SystemTime="2011-05-30T13:16:31.000Z" />
<Security />

Thirdly, I've had a problem recently where most of my files and folders became hidden and read-only. I've been going through and un-hiding and un-readonlying things when necessary (Program Files, C:/Users, etc) but I still run into problems with programs trying to write to different locations and I'd like an easy fix. One program that is having problems is Malwarebytes - every time I try to update it it gives me PROGRAMM_ERROR_UPDATING (5, 0, CreateFile).

You can probably tell I'm having a few little hiccups with this computer at the moment, and I'm at wit's end trying to fix it all, so all the help you can afford me would be appreciated :P
