Hi - Hope someone can help! (Desktop, Xp Pro)

Been having malware problems, had to uninstall AVG as it ran continuously (taken over I think)but couldn't remove the infections found, browser was hijacked, false virus warnings etc. Well, I downloaded and ran a few antimalware programs (super antispywear , Malwarebytes) and apart from a problem (now overcome) concerning file associations, it seems 'better' ... BUT .. I obviously still have some problems because my browser (Firefox) is blocked from several antimalware websites including Bleeping Computer, malwarebytes etc.
I'm even reluctant to run my installed anti-malware in case thats been taken over!

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer!
