I have Pinnacle studio 15 and studio 11 bonus dvd both installed in my computer. I have already transferred the content of 11 bonus dvd to studio 15 and I get a message that I can now uninstall studio 11 (the previous version of the program). My question is if I can also uninstall safely the 11 bonus dvd? Will its content remain in 15?

I have Pinnacle Studio 12 and I don't know what you are talking about :).

Anything that comes from Pinnacle on CD/DVD...can always be installed on a hard drive...once installed on a hard drive, there is no need for the CD/DVD unless one needs to reinstall the app. That bonus DVD is downloadable, which further indicates that the DVD is merely a means of providing files.

My experience with Pinnalce over the years...indicates that transferring items from one version to the next...may not necessarily be what they have in mind. There have been versions where created files were not even compatible for editing purposes.

The only reason to keep any Pinnacle CD which you might have...is possible future restore if you don't have the files saved/maintained on your hard drive, IMO.

Hi and thanks for the respond. I thought my thread was dead by now. Anyway, there is a way to transfer the content of bonus dvd 11 to later versions of pinnacle as described here and here.
At the end of the transfer I get the following message:

My question is if the same applies to the bonus dvd and can be safely uninstalled once the content has been transferred.

In case you don't know Studio’s Bonus Content DVD includes numerous special effects, like the Hollywood FX transition.

Well, I did already but the person with whom I chatted didn't seem to know what happens to the transferred content after uninstalling bonus dvd 11.

I received recently an answer from Avid Support for my question. I should not uninstall bonus DVD 11 even after transferring the content to studio 15. Also, not all the content of bonus DVD 11 is included in the bonus content of st.15.
Thanks everybody for your interest.
