I have the infomus Win32 virus and the anti-virus programs I have downloaded (the freebie versions) either have not wiped it out or it has corrupted a file anyway, preventing me from gaining access to Internet Explorer.

I have both Service Pack 1 and 2 CDs from Dell for reinstallation of WindowsXP - any advice on which to use and any specific steps to take before using them?

For what it is worth, it appears that the documents files on the drive are fine, though there are plenty of files created since the virus came - I think over 1,000.

Any help most appreciated.
