My computer has become slow as molasses. It takes an awful long time to boot and, when I am on Yahoo mail, messages often take forever to load. I am referring to simple text messages--small and with NO attachments! The computer responds very quickly one minute, and crawls to a halt the next minute, without any apparent reason whatsoever! I have removed many start-up programs, regularly run Norton Antivirus scans and even Adware Professional scans, to no avail. I use a router (wired) as well. I am not sure how to find if I have a virus, a Trojan, or what else is causing the slowdown. My hard disk is only half full, and I have 2 GB of memory. I use Windows 7, and updates are downloaded automatically and regularly.
