Just checking in to say hello and thank whomever had the brilliant idea for this site. I remember running across it a year or two ago while searching for explanations of start-up programs. Then, I totally forgot about it until tonight. My loss. Now that I have "found" it again, I will keep the shortcut handy.
I am not new to computers, but since I am self-taught, I never, ever pass up the chance to learn more. Being a senior, I need to keep on top of things and keep my mind active. Learning how to solve my computer issues and problems by searching the net is really a valuable tool. Sites like this are to be treasured.
I look forward to learning from those of you who are much wiser and experienced.

On a personal note: I live in the Oregon Cascades, surrounded by the vast beauty of National Forests, wild rivers, fantastic lakes, mountains and wildlife. Being retired and having endless time to play on the computer is simply icing on the cake.

There is a wealth of information about computing and computers here, and a lot of practical advice you can use.
Thanks for joining and welcome to BC!
