So here's what's happened - I am not tech-savvy, so forgive me if I use incorrect language:
1. I was on the internet on my phone. The browser was hijacked and would only go to a site that requires a login called Cisco.
2. I inadvertently downloaded all this information to my laptop via Samsung Kies, and now my laptop has the same issue... but ONLY when I am using my usual wireless AP. When I use my phone as the AP, I am able to freely use the internet without the site popping up.
3. I have since reset my phone, which seems to have solved the problem there.
4. I have tried to do a system restore on the laptop but to no avail.
5. I have attempted to run Hijack This, and now have a screen that says "For some reason your system denied write access to the Hosts file. If any hijacked domains are in this file, HiJack This may not be able to fix this. If that happens, you need to edit the file yourself..."
6. I am running Windows 7 Home.

What can I do? Thanks.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.
