possible Blackhole Toolkit infection?

I clicked on a link in an email from a friend. Norton Internet Security blocked it saying that it prevented the Blackhole Toolkit (attacking computer 194.28.44.50,80 // ytr2.cz.cc/track.php?lp=3ab8dc91cba4d8f1).
However, I noticed that Norton immediately started reporting continuous 'unauthorized access' attempts (blocked by Norton) from Robotaskbaricon.exe on my C drive.
I ran a full check by Norton and Malwarebytes, both of which found nothing.
I asked about this in the Norton forum and they sent me here...
Can you help me?

Hello please run these 2 apps.

Please download the TDSS Rootkit Removing Tool (TDSSKiller.exe) and save it to your Desktop. <-Important!!!
Be sure to download TDSSKiller.exe (v2.5.0.0) from Kaspersky's website and not TDSSKiller.zip which appears to be an older version 2.3.2.2 of the tool.
  • Double-click on TDSSKiller.exe to run the tool for known TDSS variants.
    Vista/Windows 7 users right-click and select Run As Administrator.
  • If TDSSKiller does not run, try renaming it.
  • To do this, right-click on TDSSKiller.exe, select Rename and give it a random name with the .com file extension (i.e. 123abc.com). If you do not see the file extension, please refer to How to change the file extension.
  • Click the Start Scan button.
  • Do not use the computer during the scan
  • If the scan completes with nothing found, click Close to exit.
  • If malicious objects are found, they will show in the Scan results - Select action for found objects and offer three options.
  • Ensure Cure (default) is selected, then click Continue > Reboot now to finish the cleaning process.
  • A log file named TDSSKiller_version_date_time_log.txt (i.e. TDSSKiller.2.4.0.0_27.07.2010_09.o7.26_log.txt) will be created and saved to the root directory (usually Local Disk C:).
  • Copy and paste the contents of that file in your next reply.


If TDSSKiller does not run, try renaming it. To do this, right-click on TDSSKiller.exe, select Rename and give it a random name with the .com file extension (i.e. 123abc.com). If you do not see the file extension, please refer to these[/color] instructions. In some cases it may be necessary to redownload TDSSKiller and randomly rename it before downloading and saving to the computer.



Now check for the MBR (Master Boot Record) rootkit.


Please download mbr.exe and [color=red]save it to the root directory, usually C:\ <- (Important!)

  • Go to Start > Run and type: cmd.exe
  • press Ok.
  • At the command prompt type: c:\mbr.exe >>"C:\mbr.log"
  • press Enter.
  • The process is automatic...a black DOS window will open and quickly disappear. This is normal.
  • A log file named mbr.log will be created and saved to the root of the system drive (usually C:\).
  • Copy and paste the results of the mbr.log in your next reply.
If you have a problem using the command prompt, you can just double-click on mbr.exe to run the tool.

I ran TDSSKiller.exe (version 2.5.1) and it found nothing.
I ran mbr.exe and got the following log:

Stealth MBR rootkit/Mebroot/Sinowal/TDL4 detector 0.4.2 by Gmer, http://www.gmer.net
Windows 5.1.2600

CreateFile("\\.\PHYSICALDRIVE0"): The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
device: opened successfully
user: error reading MBR
kernel: MBR read successfully
user != kernel MBR !!!

I'm still getting the continuous 'unauthorized access blocked' in Norton's log.

These are clean. I think Norton is doing it;s job and tekking youit is blocking this.

The good news is that Symantec customers are protected from this attack. Symantec IPS and AV engines have generic detections for BlackHole's traffic, exploits, Trojans, and the rogue application FakeAV.

To be 100% certain as this is a bad malware if it gets thru. Lets have your PC verified.

Hello,

Now that you have posted a log here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic398267.html you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a MRT Team member, nor should you ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show in the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the MRT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the MRT Team members are EXTREMELY busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the MRT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another MRT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

Please be patient. It may take several days to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible. I advise checking your topic once a day for responses as the e-mail notification system is unreliable.
