Hi guys! I'd just like to introduce myself, not sure how long I'll be around like but still, it's rude not to!!! (As a senior member in a car forum I find it annoying that people just jump in with their problems rather than introducing themselves).

I'm technically minded and I do ok with my computers, but I'm having a problem or two at the moment.

I downloaded and installed a "keygen" on my Vaio which then black screened me, restarted my computer then had a fake "windows is loading programs" bar which then resulted in the vaio system restart screen which said it was fixing faults. Anyway it kept looping and then my dad (who's top notch at pc's) backed up my photos and files and then did a factory reset.

Anyway since then I installed firefox, and a couple of userscripts which I did have previously (for an online game). and for some stupid reason now whenever I use google search in firefox it redirects me to stupid sites and then adds tabs to more stupid sites!!!

Anyway, HI! :D

Welcome to BC. :)

Problems are dealt with in the other forums, but it would not hurt for you to download Malwarebytes and / or SuperAntiSpyWare to check if your computer is affected.

Free versions available at:

You could also try reinstalling Firefox. If you still experience problems, please post in the 'Am I Infected' forum, if you want help.
