Hey guys, i love this place btw, much appreciative for all of the help you guys always give

I just built a new pc and when i run cmd as admin, and do a chkdsk/f or /r, everytime it says the drive is locked, and it will do the chkdsk on sys restart... The thing thats freaking me out is,this same problem happened with the pc i JUSt had before this one...

IM 99% sure i used the same disc for both installs of win 7 x64

Is there something wrong with my install discs or something?? did the files i moved from the old pc have a virus or something in it?

Are the drives locked because i didnt partition them correctly?

Like, how do i figure out why my drive is always locked?

Also ,on another topic (or it could be related) i just built a new pc recently, but i already got a blue screen error...little scary.. i spent quite a bit on this barebones x58m Msi/Intel I7 950 package... Got the blue screen coincidentally after installing extra fan to cool hot GPU

What drive are you trying to scan? The Windows drive (normally C) is always locked because Windows is running off of it.

Kwell after doing some searchin for "sfc/scannow unable to repair files"etc etc, it brought me to win7 forums, where they explain i should probably do a repair install...

But i am hoping there is an alternative to this ????
