Hi all this is my first post,
Though i've used this site off and on over the years,
and have found it to be THE source for any problems i've had.
However this is one that finally has me stumped real good.

im running windows vista on a compaq f700 laptop and have had several viruses that ive been able to outwit this one is mean though.
i use avg 2011 maybe partly the problem? it seems on the 14th avg was installed with out my knowledge plus a second avg named file an hour later. However been running avg for several months? there was a threat that was detected and picked up by avg that i chose to move to the vault. avg was already running but kept asking for permission to continue which i thought was strange seeing as it was already running.I denied access. Over the next couple days i noticed that i cannot open anything exe. based and when i try
im asked which program i want to use to open it? system restore, and run MRT included even a wma file. the only thing im allowed to open is firefox. I also noticed that there are now 7-8 avg related processes running when i open task manager plus several others that were not there before.

heres the list from task manager:

aolacsd.exe system -- though i dont run aol
applemobiledeviceservice.exe system --- had itunes before but have never seen this process
audiodg.exe local service
