I used to get error code 0x80071a90. So I followed these directions: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_other-windows_update/windows-7-sp1-gives/4c0d71a6-c2d9-4a68-9e68-aa7cd7b6f848

After I completed them, I tried to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 again, but now I get error code 0x800f0826.

Type services.msc in the start search box. Click on the icon... when the Window opens, scroll down to Windows Module Installer. Right click on it, set it to automatic and start the service.

Let us know if that works.

I've set Windows Module Installer to Automatic and tried to install SP1 but I still get the error.
