I am trying to install an Asus Bluetooth Mouse BX700. I am running XP Pro SP 3 on a Dell Latitude D830. The mouse is found by Bluetooth but I am asked for a Passkey or PIN. I have never used a Bluetooth device so have never needed this passkey. I looked at MS Help and it says open the Bluetooth devices in control panel. Problem there is no such icon in CP. The Asus mouse manual says I don't need a passkey.

Thanks for any help

Can you post a link to the manual?

Thanks I have downloaded several but they are not the same as the manual that came with the mouse. I am too tire to continue tonight so will attack it again tomorrow.

I have given up trying to find the same manual as that that came with the mouse. The ones

The mouse is recognized but Fails registration. It says "If pass key left blank the default will be used" Fails!

I wonder how I can make the Bluetooth devices appear in Control panel? Seems like I could do something with a passkey there.

Frustrated.

 I absolutely think you are the greatest. How would I have ever known. I used to be a computer guy Novel CNI and CNE but things have gone so fast I am now retired and just can't (maybe don't want to) keep up.

Thanks so much

Well I have a blue tooth ear piece, and it uses 0000 for the default. Lets just say this was an absolute fluke that it worked. Happy computing.
