I have Silverlight installed but I always have a difficult time making any updates work. I was thinking about jusr deleting it - I don't use it and don't even know what it actually does!! Any thoughts?

Silverlight is used by MSN.com and other sites. So I would recommend keeping it. What is the issue that you are having with updates?

when I check my Microsoft update - there is sometimes one or two updates for Silverlight but they I try to do the update but get a message that it could not update so I just forget about it. I would have to try it again to see exactly what it is saying.

I tried doing one at a time and got this:

The following update could not be installed:
Update for Microsoft Silverlight (KB2526954)

I did not try the other one. So, I don't know why it won't do it.

Nope - Installation failed. I guess I need to un-install first. Stay tuned.

Nope - cannot un-install it - the installation code is not available. Guess that is why I cannot update it.

It won't do it because it says I already have a copy so I need to uninstall it first.

Try using this: Windows Installer Clean-up Tool? As it worked for a few people in this post: http://forums.silverlight.net/forums/t/9774.aspx

I got nervous because it looked like it was going to uninstall Office 2007 so I did not do it anyway. I am a chicken. Thanks anyway.

Just look for the Silver Light program in the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. Thats just a place where to get the tool.
