Randomly I get an error that explorer.exe needs to close. Then internet explorer closes and reopens and I can continue where I left off. I tried practically everything. This has been happening for about a week. I tried uninstalling IE but that required removing SP3 and it ultimately screwed up so many programs and graphic drivers, that I had to restore from a ghost backup, and so back to these random explorer errors.

So here I am at my favorite technical source BLEEPING COMPUTER.

Can I get some help? Thank you guys!

Well...I would have tried a repair of IE 8.

Since the Fixit tool is also on that link, I would try that first.

"I tried practically everything"
Please clarify that a little. It could mean anything.

Have you checked the system for viruses?
You listed Spybot and Mbam but no antivirus scan.

BTW: Love the avatar! Groucho was the Best!
In the beginning there was the command line.
