My computer had been having severe slowdown and intermittent internet problems for a few weeks now, following the supposed cleansing of a virus with Malwarebytes. Following the suggestions of a friend, I installed Microsoft Security Essentials. While it was updating, my computer froze. After waiting 45-60 minutes I restarted it and now every time I try to log in to Windows I am immediately logged out. I can not use safe mode to boot up, as every time I try my PC hangs on a list of missing files.

To recap, I can't actually log in to the affected pc or use safe mode either.

Microsoft Windows xp, a 64 bit. I do not have a disc as it came pre installed, though I do have the sticker thing on the side of the case.

I am unsure of what to do at this point, some help would be truly great. Thanks for your time.
