i remember when xp first came out i was told to turn off indexing do to it would keep fraging your hard drive. i was woundering if that was still true in win 7? should it be on or off i know were my files are and never use the search thing. oh is there a way to get rid of the search bar start menue?

If you don't use Windows search just disable indexing on each drive.

Sure. I always disable indexing.
